Heritage

The model 525-A CJ2+ is an enhanced CJ2 which itself grew from the successful CitationJet program.

The Citation CJ2+ was announced at the 2004 NBAA show. The CJ2+ received US federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification less than a year later on 30 September 2005, after 80 flights and 190 flight hours and EASA certified the aircraft in July 2006.

Specifications

The stretched CJ model is popular with charter operators. A cabin that is three feet longer that its sister aircraft, the M2, and provides an extra passenger seat.

The CJ2+ features the Rockwell Collins ProLine 21 along with the Collins Flight management System (FMS) which replaced the Honeywell Bendix/King radios and Universal FMS found in its predecessor the CJ2. It also has FADEC.

The enhancements have led to greater performance, upping the zero fuel weights, improved payload and increased range by around 50 nm (1, 613 nm, 2,987 km for CJ2+). However, the most impressive difference is the climb – the CJ2+ can climb to 45,000 ft in just 28 minutes. The CJ2+ is powered by two Williams FJ44-3A-24 engines offering 2,490 lbs of thrust giving a cruise speed of 418 knots.
